"I attended that meeting, and the new building person there has identified quite a lot of issues in regards to structural items," one councilor said, urging a focus on roofs and health-and-safety work rather than cosmetic items.
The council noted the bond attorney (David Ferrara) must review the revision because the council bears responsibility for bond actions. Public commenters urged using town or federal funds for town buildings in addition to school needs; councilors replied that a five-year capital plan exists and priorities are being reorganized.
The resolution passed by voice vote; the council directed staff to proceed with legal review and to present prioritized items for the bond before final issuance.
