Summary
Superintendent Hill said fall A and B student counts are complete and will inform fiscal year 2027 budget projections, announced a stipend committee workshop, facility committee meetings, a restorative justice training partnership and a virtual building visit with Connect Academy.
Superintendent Hill delivered several district announcements to the board, including completed fall A and B counts that will feed into fiscal year 2027 budget projections and the effect of settled negotiations on that process.
Hill said a stipend committee workshop, co-facilitated by Scott Shook and the district on behalf of the district and the NEA, will begin the following day. The district's facility committee has meetings scheduled this week, including a neighborhood group meeting and a larger committee meeting.
Hill said the district will partner with the Department of Justice, the After School Alliance and Scribe to offer restorative-justice training in November. He said approximately 40 people are expected to participate, including administration, staff, community members and at least one board member.
Hill also reminded trustees about a virtual building visit with Connect Academy and summarized a recent bison harvest program at the agricultural center that involved students and trustees. "I was given a Blackfeet Indian name," Hill said of the event, and added with a laugh, "I also ate raw kidney. Buffalo kidney. And I survived."
