"We would like an extension through the end of the second pay period in December if possible and reassess it at that time," a planning staffer said during the meeting.
Commissioners discussed whether the extension should be limited to the two named positions or countywide and emphasized the need to manage PTO balances to promote work–life balance. One commissioner suggested reviewing department head PTO policies next year to avoid recurring high balances.
