Charlie Weber, filling in for Jose Trevino, explained the sign had been fabricated prior to the applicant realizing Historic District Commission review was required; he described the sign as mahogany with natural-lettering and said the post office's sign vendor installs similar units at other offices.
Commissioners discussed the sign's scale and corner detailing. A commissioner observed the mockup looked small in some photos but noted the sign is 15 feet long. Commissioners asked that the end corners be replicated to match the original sign's detailing. One commissioner said, "I personally don't have any objection. It's the same as the existing sign," and another said members of fleet maintenance produce signs in that vendor's line.
A motion to approve the sign with corners done the same way as the original passed by voice vote.
