Broadwater County commissioners approved Resolution 2025, designating the county to participate in Operation Greenlight for Veterans and encouraging citizens and businesses to display a green light from November 4 as a sign of support for service members transitioning to civilian life.
County staff read the resolution, which cites national encouragement from the National Association of Counties and language describing the intent to honor veterans’ service and to raise awareness of transition-related stress. A public commenter, who identified herself as Angie Paulson, described the action as important to families with deployed members and said, “This is so awesome that you're doing this.”
A commissioner moved to approve the resolution, the motion was seconded, public comment was invited and none were opposed during the voice vote. The chair called the question and commissioners indicated approval by saying “aye.” The board instructed staff to include the signed resolution in the county records.
Ending: The signed resolution will be placed on the commission signing table for formal execution and preserved in county records.
