The Los Angeles City Council took several procedural and recorded actions after public comment on Oct. 28.
Reconsideration and continuance of item 32
Councilmember N. Padilla moved to reconsider item 32 and asked that it be moved to the Friday meeting in Van Nuys to allow community input. Councilmember Blumenfield seconded the motion. The clerk opened the roll on the reconsideration and announced "12 ayes." The council continued item 32 to Friday, Oct. 31, 2025.
Item 3 (amendment)
Item 3 had been called special by Councilmember McOsker and seconded by Councilmember Hutt. An amendment circulated and was before the council; after roll call the clerk announced "12 ayes" on the item as amended.
Item 22 (separate vote)
Councilmember Jurado called item 22 for a separate vote. The transcript records the roll call and later the clerk confirms the final vote was 9 to 3. Councilmember Hutt asked that his 'no' vote be recorded after the fact; the clerk confirmed that request did not change the outcome.
Consent/settlement items read into the record
At the start of the meeting the clerk read several recommended settlements on the consent calendar (items 24–31). The amounts read into the record were: up to $150,000 (Item 24, Dory Batang Bacal v. City of Los Angeles), up to $175,000 (Item 25, Agavani Katrien v. City of Los Angeles), up to $150,000 (Item 26, Naveed Kariminam v. City of Los Angeles), up to $750,000 (Item 27, Cesar Chavez 888 LLC v. City of Los Angeles), up to $2,625,000 (Item 28, Rosalina Reyes et al v. City of Los Angeles), up to $750,000 (Item 29, Robert Mark Evans v. City of Los Angeles), up to $475,000 (Item 30, Magdalena Zakarian v. City of Los Angeles) and up to $185,000 (Item 31, Juan Velasquez et al v. Daniel Steven Orillana et al). The transcript shows the clerk asked if the items should be voted on in open session and that the roll was called; the transcript does not include full roll‑call tallies for each of those specific settlement items.
Other procedural actions
The council also recorded a motion for posting and referral; the clerk reported the items were "posted and referred" and that the desk was clear. Following votes and items of business, councilmembers made community announcements and adjourned the meeting in memory of multiple constituents.
The transcript records the motions, who moved/seconded on the items noted above and the vote tallies explicitly announced in the record (12 ayes on reconsideration and item 3; 9–3 final on item 22). It does not show a separate recorded council disposition for each settlement item in the excerpt provided.
