Working group hears subcommittee updates; public materials posted and next meeting set for Nov. 12

The Sewage Disposal Working Group opened with brief remarks from co-chairs and legislative members and proceeded to subcommittee updates before adjourning. Jim Paris, one of three co-chairs, led the session and reminded members that the group's charge flows from a public act that asks the group to balance housing costs with protecting public health and the environment.
Senator Saud Anwar and Representative McCarthy Behe offered brief opening comments thanking members for their participation. Later in the meeting Kristen McCarthy Vahey urged subcommittees to keep discussions within the public-meeting process so the group's work remains transparent to the legislature and agencies.
Paris notified members that the public health committee created a web page for the working group (cga.ct.gov/ph) and asked members to submit documents to committee staff (Peter and Beverly) for posting. He also announced the next full working-group meeting would be Wednesday, Nov. 12 at 2:00 p.m.
The meeting adjourned after the subcommittee reports; no formal votes were taken.
