WENTZVILLE, Mo. — The Wentzville Board of Aldermen on Oct. 22 voted to table an amended site‑plan request for Circle K (application 25‑63 PZ) after staff reported practical construction difficulties (bedrock noted in a planned wet basin) and a public speaker alleged that Circle K contractors had cleared vegetation on an adjoining parcel without permission.
Planning staff said bedrock and potential leakage made the originally proposed wet retention basin impractical; the applicant requested an amended plan to use a dry detention basin instead. During discussion a member of the adjacent property owner’s family described trees and brush removed from the small triangular parcel without compensation, and at least two aldermen asked staff to pursue resolution with the applicant. One alderman said he would seek to hold building inspections until the dispute is resolved.
Because the applicant was not present to respond, the council voted to table the item to the next meeting so the applicant can appear and address technical and property questions. Staff indicated they had tried to contact the affected property owners to discuss cleanup or restoration but characterized that as a private matter between landowners.
