Parks and Recreation staff told the Board they budgeted for additional and replacement security cameras at Progress Park and coordinated the plan with IT to update older camera systems.
The department also built in higher daily admissions at the aquatic center and increased ice‑arena fees, citing higher energy and operating costs. Parks staff said the rec center will receive about $100,000 annually from a rental agreement with Mercy, and they expect continued growth in youth enrichment and fitness programs at that facility.
Staff described two personnel transitions: a retirement in an assistant role and an internal reallocation of a senior technician from horticulture and forestry into maintenance and construction. The department said these moves do not increase overall headcount.
