The Planning Commission unanimously approved a revised final development plan Oct. 28 for renovations to the Country Club of Leawood pool complex (Case PC 111‑25). The application updates the existing pool and surrounding area with new shade structures, a partially enclosed outdoor bar, new decking material, fencing upgrades and three golf‑cart parking stalls adjacent to the bar area. Staff confirmed the building footprint will not expand and that tree replacement or relocation will be handled in the disturbed area during construction.
Planner staff noted the project increases impervious surface within the project disturbance area and that Public Works had no objections. The applicant team said the improvements aim to modernize the club amenity and prepare the facility for larger swim events while improving the patron and staff experience.
Commissioners approved the final development plan with the staff stipulations; staff and applicant clarified that any relocated or new signage will require a separate sign permit and that written details must be submitted with the permitting application.
Vote: unanimous approval of the revised final development plan.
