HREC approves prior minutes, sets Nov. 17 special meeting and chooses second-Tuesday recurring schedule for 2026

The Human Rights and Equity Commission approved administrative items on Oct. 29 and set both a special November meeting date and a recurring schedule for 2026.
The commission approved the draft minutes for July 30 and Aug. 27 with no corrections. The minutes approval was taken by voice and recorded as approved.
On the special November meeting, commissioners considered two dates and then voted to hold the meeting on Nov. 17, 2025. Chair Ventura called for hands; staff reported the final count as six in favor for Nov. 17.
For recurring 2026 meetings, the commission considered two options—first Thursday of each month or the second Tuesday of each month—and voted to meet on the second Tuesday beginning January 2026. Staff recorded the vote as four online and two in chambers, for a total of six in favor.
