The Downtown Commission approved a wall sign measuring roughly 41.4 inches by 163.5 inches and mounted approximately 60 feet above grade for a tenant in the White Castle development.
Stan Young, speaking for White Castle, described the proposed internally illuminated channel letters and confirmed the letters will be white, LED-lit and operate on a photocell so illumination occurs at night. "They'll be white in color…approximately 41 and a half inches tall…approximately 47 square feet in graphic area," Young said after being sworn.
Staff found the sign consistent with the downtown design guidelines for corporate or tenant signage and commissioners agreed the placement was compatible with the building architecture. A motion to approve passed on a motion and second and a voice vote.
The commission recorded no individual roll-call tallies for the item; staff will note the approval in the permit record and follow up on electrical and mounting details during permit review.
