PUCN accepts NV Power withdrawal of MSG Las Vegas ESA application and extends limited waiver for one year

Hearing Officer Crano presented agenda item 3A concerning Nevada Power Company’s application for approval of an energy supply agreement (ESA) with MSG Las Vegas LLC and an amended application. Crano noted the amended application was filed on Dec. 3, 2024, and that NV Power filed a letter on Oct. 13, 2025 withdrawing both the original and amended applications and requesting the waiver of the market-price energy tariff customer-eligibility requirement be extended.
The proposed order accepts the withdrawal without prejudice and extends the previously granted waiver but limits the extension to a future ESA application filed within one year from the date of the order. The hearing officer recommended adding a sentence to the proposed order to reference the amended application; the commission accepted the hearing officer's recommendations, including the modification, and issued the appropriate order on the record.
No party questions were recorded and the motion to accept the hearing officer's recommendations carried by voice vote.
