Sheridan County approves WWC Engineering agreement for channel stabilization design

Sheridan County commissioners on Oct. 21, 2025, approved an agreement with WWC Engineering for professional engineering services to design a tunnel/channel stabilization project in the Cleveland recreational area.
Ken Moberg and Trevor Reimer told the board the county solicited proposals and received five qualified responses; a selection team recommended WWC Engineering as offering the strongest qualifications for the work. Moberg said staff negotiated a fee and that the design phase will provide project cost estimates to guide later construction planning.
Jeff Baron of WWC Engineering thanked the county and said the work will benefit the Tug River watershed and recreational uses in the area. Commissioners noted recent tours with the conservation district and described nearby infrastructure at risk; they approved the agreement and authorized the chairman to sign by voice vote.
Staff will proceed with design, produce cost estimates and return to the board for construction authorization when appropriate.
