A commissioner asked Sheridan County staff to put on the next day's agenda a request for letters of support from the county for a Sage Community Arts grant to the Wyoming semiquincentennial planning task force.
County staff member Cameron said the county had not received the grant application and that the board had not been provided sufficient project details. "I have not seen the grant application. I could go ahead and get it from Sage and have that ready for tomorrow," Cameron said, adding that timing created an awkward situation if the county delayed action.
Commissioner Jennings and others said they would prefer to see the grant application and hear a representative explain the project before approving a letter of support. Commissioners agreed it would be helpful if a Sage representative could attend tomorrow's meeting; Cameron said she would ask whether Jill from Sage is available.
If county staff cannot assemble the application materials in time, one commissioner said they would decline to provide the letter. The item was tentatively placed on the next day's agenda pending receipt of the application and, if possible, a presentation by the applicant.
