Chris Thomas, Sheridan County Fire Warden, informed commissioners that rescinding the partial fire restriction imposed in July will be on tomorrow's agenda after consultation with local fire chiefs.
"Once I got ahold of them, once they answered me, they all said yes," Thomas said, explaining that chiefs had agreed to lift the partial restriction and that the rescission will be presented to the board for action.
Commissioners noted that Campbell County and Johnson County had lifted similar restrictions recently and that those counties delegated authority to fire wardens, allowing quicker changes. No formal action to rescind the restriction occurred at the staff meeting; Thomas said the rescission is scheduled for the board agenda the next day.
