Sheena Darland, director of the Grand County Housing Authority, requested the board sign the appraisal demand letter, which the authority will use to notify the insurer that it elects to pursue appraisal under the policy to resolve roof damage. Darland said the step initiates the appraisal process and helps move the claim toward settlement.
Commissioners moved and approved the request for signature; no public comment was offered on the item.
Darland told the board the housing authority had kept the site in good order and that the action was administrative in nature to protect the authority's insurance rights.
