The Planning and Zoning Commission unanimously approved technical cleanup amendments Oct. 28 to Article 4, Article 10 and Appendix W to align parking tables, permitted uses and amenity requirements with earlier changes to the Unified Development Code.
Staff described the amendments as clarifications following prior legislative and code updates. The changes specify that residential uses or home-based businesses are not permitted in certain zoning districts where the UDC disallows them; they align parking requirement tables with earlier amendments to Appendix S and others; and they clarify the required amenities when preferred parking standards are used.
No public comments were offered. Chair Cheryl Smith moved to approve per staff recommendations; Commissioner Janie Mendez Adakari seconded. The motion passed unanimously.
Staff said these amendments are administrative cleanups intended to reduce confusion for applicants and permit reviewers; the items will proceed to city council for final action.
