The Marion County School Board held a public hearing on the 2025—2027 District Safety and Loss Prevention Manual on Oct. 28 and adopted the manual by a 5-0 vote.
Interim Superintendent Danielle Brewer said the manual—s primary goal is to provide a safe and healthy environment for students, employees, and visitors and to reduce accidents and related costs. District staff asked for public comment; none was offered. After brief board discussion, the chair called the vote and the manual was adopted unanimously.
Staff said the manual is intended to realize monetary savings by reducing costly accidental injuries and to standardize safety practices across schools and district facilities.
