Commissioners renew benefit administration contracts; retiree premium rates unchanged for 2026
Summary
The court renewed administrative agreements for flexible spending and retiree premium billing and kept retiree premium rates unchanged for 2026. HealthEquity and Venistar contracts were renewed at the same per-participant rates as 2025.
The Commissioners Court on Oct. 28 approved routine renewals of vendor agreements that administer county employee benefit plans and retiree billing services.
The court renewed the HealthEquity administrative agreement for flexible spending accounts and dependent-care administration at the same fee as 2025: $5.25 per participant per month plus a $40 monthly compliance fee. Treasurer's staff reported 132 participants on flexible spending and two on dependent care, citing a recent invoice of $754.
The court also renewed a Venistar agreement for under-65 retiree premium billing at the unchanged rate of $5.75 per retiree per month. Later in the meeting the court reviewed post-65 retiree medical plan rates and other Medicare Part D arrangements and elected to keep the countys retiree premium contribution unchanged for plan year 2026.
All motions to renew the contracts and keep retiree premium rates the same were approved by voice vote.
