Liberty County approves Genesis KeyBots for online bail payments, sheriff says no cost to county

The Liberty County Commissioners Court voted Oct. 28 to authorize the sheriffs office to enter an agreement with Genesis KeyBots to accept online payments for bail and bond transactions.
Sheriff Raider told the court the county looked at the system two years earlier and addressed concerns raised by the auditors office since that review. He said the system will remove cashiers checks from correctional officers hands, shift payments to an online platform, and is being used in five contiguous counties. The sheriff said the vendor participation and a form for local mailbox companies have already been handled in other counties.
"It's at no cost to the county, but hopefully it will help speed up our process there in the jail," the sheriff said.
Commissioner Gerald moved to approve the agreement; Commissioner Greg seconded. The court approved the measure by voice vote.
