Public Service Director James Sutton told council the interceptor project — about 28,000 feet of pipeline running from the Rapid subdivision parallel to the river to the operations facility — has had lining and structural rehabilitation completed by SAK Construction. Sutton said about 24 brick manholes still require realignment and roughly 512 feet of pipe remains to be replaced, including a section that crosses under Atomic Road and will be replaced via pipe bursting.
Sutton also said a sectional aerial pipeline along the Greenway Trail (~546 feet) will be replaced and that staff will provide public notices for work visible from the trail. He gave a scheduled completion date of Dec. 30 for that project.
A second project to rehabilitate approximately 23,714 feet of 8‑inch clay pipeline in Crestland and Landhurst subdivisions is in progress with Champion Cleaning Specialist and is expected to finish in April 2026; that work includes realigning and rehabbing about 24 manholes.
Sutton said staff had requested additional projects — adding roughly 20,000 feet of pipeline work near Crestland/Lyndhurst and rehabilitating about 8,053 feet of 15‑inch pipeline serving the industrial park off Revco Road — which had not yet been approved. He estimated the combined cost of the described projects could be about $8,800,000.
