Finance Director Linda Williamson presented the city’s quarterly voluntary report and noted the full filing is available on EMMA (www.emma.msrb.org) and on the city’s financial transparency page.
Williamson reported hospitality tax collections of $2,192,447 through Sept. 30 — about an 11% increase over the same period last year — and said the city is averaging roughly $260,000 per month in hospitality taxes. She said staff expect to surpass last year’s total by approximately $240,000 (about a 9% gain for the year).
On accommodation taxes, Williamson said collections were roughly $105,000 higher than at the same time last year (about a 30% increase) and that hotel revenue appeared to be up roughly 50% for the year in the hotels sampled.
Williamson also reported a state tourism payment of about $62,000 related to the stadium from the South Carolina tourism program; she said the city had requested the funds annually and it was the first check received since 2020. Parking and stadium revenues were described as trending positive overall.
Williamson noted tax‑sale administration updates (41 properties currently on the Nov. 3 list, down from 62) and said timely utility billing cycles continued under the new software implementation.
