Commission extends operation of Clackamas RV Park while waterfront master plan advances

"There is some rules about how long they can stay, and I don't know how well we enforce that... we do notice them when they become, you know, a problem," Miss De Craig said, describing a 10‑day stay limit and rare extensions granted for hardship.
Commissioners debated whether the park's operating revenue should be dedicated to the parks department, how to account for utilities and maintenance costs, and whether to extend operations on a fixed date or "season‑by‑season." Commissioner Dan Neely moved to extend the RV park through the next season and have staff report back in September 2002; the motion was seconded and commissioners later clarified the extension date as Sept. 30, 2002.
Some commissioners—while supporting revenue generation—expressed concern about park appearance, enforcement of stay limits, and incomplete breakdowns of expenses in the packet. Staff said expense detail could be provided and that utility costs were included in the RV park expense line. The commission approved the extension and directed staff to provide a report at the specified follow‑up date.
