Depew accepts resignation of Deputy Emergency Manager RJ Neiman after 14 years

The Village of Depew Board of Trustees on Oct. 27 accepted the resignation of Deputy Emergency Manager RJ Neiman, effective Nov. 1, 2025, and village officials publicly thanked him for 14 years of service.
Mayor Kevin J. Peterson read a resolution accepting Neiman’s resignation and trustees voted to carry the resolution. Multiple department heads and elected officials—who described a seven-year partnership with Galen (OEM) and lengthy collaboration across police, fire and emergency-management functions—delivered tributes in which they cited Neiman’s role during major winter storms, flooding and the COVID-19 pandemic. The remarks noted Neiman’s administrative work on event emergency action plans (EAPs) and coordination for community events, and the fire chief described joint operations during major incidents.
Neiman addressed the board, called his service an honor and said he would remain available by phone to assist as needed. Colleagues said they expect him to attend future community events as a resident rather than a staff member.
