On Oct. 28 the North Bend City Council authorized two equipment purchases for city operations.
Generator: The council authorized purchase of a 230 kW standby generator from Legacy Power Systems in the amount of $50,474.88 and authorized installation costs not to exceed $15,000. The motion was moved by Councilor Hamilton and seconded by Councilor Slater; the motion carried.
Kawasaki vehicle for biosolids site: The council also authorized staff to purchase a 2025 Kawasaki from North Bend Power Sports for use at the city’s biosolids site. During the public reading the transcript recorded two closely differing dollar amounts for that purchase: $14,845 and later $14,825. The council approved the purchase; staff follow‑up should confirm the final contract amount and payment authorization.
Both purchases were approved in separate votes during the meeting. Staff will publish finalized purchase orders and any warranty or installation agreements as required by procurement rules.
