Road and Bridge Superintendent Joe Snyder presented bids received Oct. 7 for Ottawa Road Phase 3 (two miles) and recommended awarding the work to King—s Construction as the low bidder. Commissioner action approved awarding the contract to King—s Construction for the amount read into the record by the superintendent (transcript reported "$1,220,218.72" as the low bid). The board voted 3–0 to accept the recommendation and sign the agreement; construction is scheduled to begin after the earlier phase is completed.
Snyder also updated the commission on Bridge 290 (north of town on 314th/Indian Hut): two piers have been poured, pile driving is underway, culverts were scheduled to arrive the next day, and the contractor expects to complete the structure and all work except the asphalt before weather prevents paving. Officials plan to return in spring to complete asphalt work when plants reopen.
Votes at a glance: Ottawa Road Phase 3 award to King—s Construction approved 3—60.
