The Grand Forks School Board approved routine business items and accepted the district's general fund financial statement for the first three months of fiscal year 2026 during its Oct. 27 meeting.
The chair called for approval of the consent agenda; board member Palmasino moved and Miss Flynn seconded the motion. The board took a roll-call vote and approved the consent agenda, 5 yes, 0 no, 4 absent.
Business manager Bambach presented the general fund financial statement for the period July 1, 2025 through Sept. 30, 2025, describing the first quarter numbers. He reported revenues of $16.3 million and expenditures of $17.5 million through September, leaving expenditures ahead of revenues by approximately $1.2 million — a timing pattern the presenter said is not uncommon early in the fiscal year. Bambach noted this was the first statement that included the newly approved budget columns and described several timing-related variances (for example, a prior CTE home sale recorded in the prior year). Bambach recommended the board approve the financial statement.
Mister Anderson moved to approve the general fund financial statement and Miss Flynn seconded. The board voted by roll call to approve the statement, 5 yes, 0 no, 4 absent.
The meeting continued to announcements; no additional budget votes were taken on Oct. 27.
