Adams County rolls out grants dashboard and plans Amplifund migration to centralize grant tracking

Adams County grants staff demonstrated a new internal grants dashboard intended to centralize pre-award and award information and to reduce duplicate applications across departments.

Grants staff said the first dashboard view captures grants 'under consideration', 'in preparation' and 'submitted' so departments can see whether another unit is working on the same opportunity and can coordinate. Grants staff runs weekly extracts from the current system (eCIVIS) into a Smartsheet dashboard while the county prepares to migrate to Amplifund. Once Amplifund is live, staff said, commissioners and department leads will be able to click from a dashboard entry to a grant's information page.

Other points

- Grants staff will host training webinars (next session Nov.5) and has begun one-on-one onboarding with departments. A grants email address (grants@cocogov.org) will centralize questions.

- The dashboard includes a reason code for 'abandoned' grant ideas so leadership can see whether a proposal was rejected because another jurisdiction is leading it, ineligibility, or other reasons.

Why it matters

Staff said the tool will reduce wasted effort and improve coordination; commissioners told staff they liked the approach and asked to receive the dashboard link. Grants staff said a fuller, clickable interface will arrive after Amplifund migration and recommended departments submit grant intentions early so projects do not conflict.
