Huerfano County commissioners on Oct. 28 approved a contract with Taylor Consulting LLC to provide interim director services for the Department of Human Services through June 30, 2026.
County staff said Lorenda Taylor (Taylor Consulting LLC) is qualified to cover both the director role and child protective services while the county recruits permanent employees. Staff explained it may take substantial time to find a candidate already qualified for child-protection responsibilities.
The motion to approve the contract passed at the meeting.
The contract runs through the end of the 2025–2026 fiscal year, per the staff presentation.
