Surrogate announces Vineland satellite office to improve access for seniors and people with disabilities

Rudolph A. Luizi, Cumberland County surrogate, told the board the county will open a full-service satellite office in Vineland to make surrogate services more accessible to older residents and people with mobility limitations.
Luizi outlined accessibility features for the site: first-floor location, immediate indoor access from the parking lot, bathrooms and privacy for one-on-one consultations. "Less than 50 feet, getting out of your car, and you will be in the office," Luizi said, adding that the location is on a bus route and has ample parking.
He said the satellite office will provide the same services as the main Bridgeton office and that staff will continue to perform home visits for residents who cannot travel. County leaders described the site as rent-free because the county is part of the building and noted security measures on the premises.
Commissioners and attendees praised the move as improving access for seniors and people who find courthouse stairs and long distances difficult. Luizi emphasized a personal commitment to outreach and said he and his staff will continue to provide home appointments as needed.
