College Station ISD trustees approve library books purchase, 6‑0

College Station Independent School District trustees approved a proposed purchase of library books at a special meeting Oct. 28, voting 6‑0 to “approve as presented.”

Doctor Payne, a board member, made the motion to approve the proposed library books purchase as presented; Miss McAdams, a board member, seconded the motion. The presiding officer instructed trustees to raise their hands for the vote; the presiding officer announced, “Motion carries 6 0.” Trustee Miss Hester added, “The librarians will be very happy.”

The board opened the meeting’s public-comment period and announced there were no citizen speakers for this meeting. After the vote, the board announced it would convene in executive session to consider a Level 3 parent grievance under exceptions to the Texas Open Meetings Act, citing the Texas Government Code provisions governing personally identifiable student information and personnel matters (Texas Government Code §§551.082 and 551.074).
