Council approves parking restrictions, sidewalk use and several entertainment-license modifications

The Town of Bristol Council on Oct. 22 approved two parking ordinances, a sidewalk-use license and several routine license modifications.

Parking ordinances: The council approved ordinance 2025-12 (stopping, standing and parking prohibitions at 150–180 Franklin Street) and ordinance 2025-13 (parking prohibited at specified frontage at 208 Franklin Street) on second reading. Councilors said the measures are intended to improve visibility and traffic safety in the area. Councilor Tony moved and Councilor Tim seconded the motions to adopt; both passed on voice votes.

Sidewalk use: The council approved a sidewalk use license for CLAR LLC doing business as Salt Boutique Spa, 173 State Street. William Scribe, appearing for the applicant, said the license would allow tables and chairs in a wider section of sidewalk but kept against the building to preserve ADA passage; council approved based on positive departmental recommendations.

Virtual license (coffee/chocolatier): The council approved a virtual license for Sean Reilly's Tampa, 539 Wood Street (applicant described prior vendor experience and plans to open October 29). The council agreed — with solicitor and clerk input — to extend the license through Nov. 2026 at the applicant's request so that the near-term renewal cycle would align with the town's schedule.

Three-month reviews and entertainment modifications: Besides Aiden's (which the council sent back for additional review), the council approved three-month review modifications for Liberados Lounge/The Beach House (805 Hope St.), DeWolf Tavern (259 State St.), Judge Roy Bean (1 State St.) and Lobster Pot (119–121 Hope St.) consistent with departmental recommendations.

The council recorded motions and voice votes for each item during the meeting; no fines or suspensions were imposed.
