Fremont County proclaims Nov. 21 Adoption Day; DHS says seven local children waiting for adoption

FREMONT COUNTY — Commissioners proclaimed Nov. 21, 2025 as Adoption Day in Fremont County to coincide with National Adoption Day activities.
Brenda Raul of the Department of Human Services told the board that Fremont County currently has seven children identified as waiting for adoption. Raul said those children already have “forever families” in place and the remaining step is court finalization; she noted appeals and court timing can delay the adoption process and sometimes take up to a year.
Commissioners thanked the Department of Human Services staff and invited local families and community members to the county’s adoption celebration. The board approved the adoption-day proclamation by motion.
