FREMONT COUNTY — County Clerk Grantham reported September collections of motor-vehicle fees, sales tax and recording fees totaling $1,432,448.79 and said Fremont County’s distributable portion was $804,077.83 (56% of the total). The clerk said the county’s share was $364,539.86 less than the same month in the prior year and year-to-date receipts were down $153,042.71.
The clerk explained the decline partly reflected unusually large sales of motor-vehicle equipment in 2022–2023 that temporarily boosted prior-year collections; those one-time events were not repeated this September, she said. Commissioners accepted the clerk’s monthly report by motion.
