The governing board on Oct. 27 approved a purchase order to fund wastewater and drinking‑water operations, repairs and required chemicals for district facilities. Operations director Bob Young said the district used a vendor on the Arizona 'save' contract for continuity; the motion passed unanimously.
Board members pressed staff about competitive procurement and recommended preparing a full RFP for the next season so companies can bid on an even playing field and potentially reduce costs. Vice President Kenyon also asked staff to explore whether the City of Buckeye could provide public water and sewer services to the campus at a future date; Young said delivery of public lines is not currently available.
The board approved the purchase order 5–0. Members asked staff to return in the coming months with the scope for a public RFP and to pursue conversations with Buckeye about access to city water and sewer where feasible.
