Mayor David Brown and council issued two proclamations during the meeting.
Code enforcement: The council proclaimed October 2025 as Code Enforcement Appreciation Week and recognized Code Compliance Officer Jennifer Cabrillo. A staff member read a statement from Cabrillo expressing gratitude and noting she was attending the 2025 California Code Enforcement Conference and would bring back knowledge to the community.
Diablo Canyon: The council also adopted a proclamation expressing support for license extension of the Diablo Canyon Power Plant and asking the California Coastal Commission to approve necessary permits. The proclamation noted Diablo Canyon provides about 10% of California’s electricity and argued that continued operation supports statewide reliability and carbon‑neutral goals. Eric Daniels, a PG&E representative, accepted the proclamation and said, “I will take this back to corporate and, look forward to also having it shared on November 6 as well at the committee.”
No formal action beyond adoption of proclamations was required.
