Staff said existing equipment was either too large or too small for certain tasks and sometimes damaged irrigation heads and turf.
Tyson explained staff expect regular monthly use at the arena and seasonal sidewalk work. Councilmembers asked for data to quantify anticipated labor savings and wear‑and‑tear reduction; staff said they would use mapping and time‑tracking to build a usage history.
Councilmember moved and seconded the purchase motion; members voted in favor by voice vote. Staff said the attachments were purchased from an established commercial vendor and were intended to reduce maintenance costs and improve safety compliance for playground and trail surfaces.
The council directed staff to record usage hours to measure efficiency gains and provide data for future equipment decisions.
