Pulaski to apply for TDOT corridor safety grant to study College Street corridor

Mister Keith told the council the study would analyze speeds, crash data, near-misses, signaling and ingress/egress patterns along the corridor and could support placement of additional traffic signals at the east and west ends of town. The grant is structured as an 80% federal share, 10% state match and a 10% local match; the resolution authorizes applying for up to $100,000 with a local match not to exceed $10,000.
Mister Massey moved to apply; Missus Miles seconded. The council voted by roll call (Massey, Miles, Worsham, Brian and Brantley voting aye) to approve the resolution to apply for the grant.
Staff said the study would provide data that could justify future engineering work or signal installations; no construction fund was authorized at this meeting.
