San Antonio staff present Code Compliance strategic plan focused on community outreach and vacant-lot enforcement

San Antonio code compliance staff presented a strategic plan to the Planning and Development Committee on Oct. 28 outlining outreach, education and enforcement priorities aimed at boosting community trust and improving compliance outcomes. The presentation said the department is accredited by an international association (the department said it is the first in Texas and fourth nationally) and has begun a structured, multi-year process of community and staff engagement.

The plan, staff said, was developed after a 2023 request and a budgeting action that provided $50,000 for interviews, workshops and other engagement.
