Visit McKinney elects 2026 officers; chair appoints committees and liaison

Katie Scott was re-elected chair of Visit McKinney on Oct. 28, 2025, with Brian Medina chosen as vice chair and Keith Gall as treasurer. The board conducted nominations and voted by a show of hands before approving the slate of officers.
The board moved through the required election order — chair, vice chair, treasurer — after Scott outlined the voting procedures, which require a majority of affirmative votes and are tallied by the reporting clerk. Carol Sullivan moved to approve the slate of nominees; Brian Medina seconded the motion and the board approved the slate by show of hands.
After the election, Scott announced committee assignments. The Finance Committee will include Treasurer Keith Gall, Chair Katie Scott, Patrick McGuire and Jill Barnes. The Marketing Committee will be chaired by Brian Medina with Janie Pena and Carol Sullivan serving as members. Scott asked committee chairs to meet briefly after the board meeting to set regular meeting times and to email those dates to staff.
Scott also appointed Taryn Bolton as Visit McKinney’s liaison to the McKinney Parks and Recreation Advisory Board; liaison meetings are held at 5 p.m. on the second Thursday of each month. No public comments were made on the agenda item prior to the votes.
The board’s procedural motions were recorded on the meeting record; the slate and related consent actions passed by majority vote.
