Bandera council approves Bandera EDC 2025–26 proposed budget

The Bandera City Council approved the Bandera Economic Development Corporation’s proposed 2025–26 budget during its Sept. 9 meeting.
Councilmember Lehi Palmer moved to approve the BEDC 2025–26 proposed budget; Brett Hicks seconded the motion and the council voted unanimously in favor.
Staff explained two items in the BEDC budget: the EDC will pay half of the principal payment on two grants noted in the staff packet, and interest earned in TexStar that is targeted for wastewater will be tracked separately in bookkeeping even though the budget displays consolidated income lines. Council members asked for confirmation that wastewater-related interest and principal are being tracked with the wastewater fund; staff confirmed they are tracked separately in the accounting system.
No amendments were introduced at the meeting. The council recorded the approval and instructed staff to proceed with administrative steps to finalize the adoption.
