Matthews Alive organizers report smooth 2025 festival; $72,100 distributed to local nonprofits

She said the festival has faced rising costs and changing volunteer patterns since the COVID pandemic and that the organizing board has adjusted processes to remain sustainable.
Moore said the festival distributed $72,100 to 44 nonprofit organizations that provided services ranging from parade participation to trash management and crowd assistance. Recipients include Rotary Club, the Help Center, the Free Clinic, the Matthews Chamber, the Historic Foundation and veterans’ groups, Moore said.
Moore said planning for 2026 is already underway and emphasized continued efforts to balance tradition and fiscal responsibility.
