The O'Fallon Planning & Zoning Commission approved a conditional use permit on Oct. 2 for the Brutini Lounge at 35 O'Fallon Square, allowing on-site sale and service of alcohol by the drink alongside morning coffee service.
Applicant Jennifer Brooks told the commission the concept is a ‘‘boozy coffee lounge’’ that will open for coffee Monday through Saturday at 7 a.m., transition to alcohol service after 11 a.m., and close to the public at 11 p.m.; Sundays will be reserved for private events. She said no food will be prepared on site and that a background check and liquor-license requirements will be completed through the city's licensing process.
Public advocate Arnie Dienoff testified in support as a downtown-business revitalization effort and recommended that licensing and background checks be done consistent with other establishments. The commission approved the conditional use permit on a motion and the applicant said she plans to open in early 2026.
