Several committee members praised a recent live "boat around" tour of the mooring field produced by Beach Talk Radio that the vice mayor said had more than 8,700 views. Members said the exposure was positive for the mooring field and the town.
Committee member Chris King said he plans to ask town council for permission to hold a Mooring Field Appreciation event tentatively set for April 12 from noon to 3 p.m. The committee moved and approved a motion authorizing the chair to present the request to council and to bring preliminary plans and an update on related committee topics.
Members also discussed outreach to fill an open seat on the committee. Jim Adderhold and others said the town clerk will accept applications, and members agreed to publicize the vacancy through the town newsletter and other channels. Staff agreed to follow up with the town communications office about reposting or sharing the Beach Talk Radio segment on the town’s channels.
