Commissioners approve 17 consent items including RCO fish‑passage grant application and hotel/motel awards

Commissioners noted a newly added line item for Parks maintenance of roughly $40,000 to support facilities and events that bring overnight visitors. During discussion, commissioners noted one high‑level request from Anacortes for approximately $1,000,000 in startup funding for a waterfront event space; the request was described at the time as nonspecific and likely to return for further committee review.

Other items approved on the consent calendar included a contract with White Rabbit Group for website maintenance and design services (described by commissioners as a step toward a new county website), acceptance of a donation from the Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation of 20 automated external defibrillators for the sheriff’s office, and formal approval of a benefits package for non‑represented county employees intended to keep pay and benefits competitive for retention and training purposes.

The motion to approve the consent agenda was made and seconded during the meeting; the board voted in favor, with the clerk recording the motion as carried 3‑0.
