District committees recommend HMH for K–5 and StudySync for 6–12 in ELA adoption

For kindergarten through grade 5, the adoption committee (administrators, 10 classroom teachers and four parents) completed 528 teacher rubrics and unanimously recommended HMH Reading (2026 edition) as the highest‑ranked program; Wonders (McGraw Hill) was the committee’s second choice. For grades 6–12, departmental reviewers completed 53 rubrics and recommended McGraw Hill StudySync as the primary option and Pearson’s My Perspectives as second choice.
Staff noted the advantages of the longer timeline used this year — teacher reviews began last spring and committees met over the school year — and said the district will begin curriculum mapping and phased implementation as soon as the board votes to advance the adoption. The recommended purchase period is four years (rather than five) to align with existing state adoption timelines and to reduce immediate cost; professional learning for staff will accompany implementation. If the board approves the recommendation at the next meeting, the district will enter the 30‑day contest period required by state adoption procedures and move toward classroom rollout the following school year.
