The Medina City Council approved Ordinance 174‑25 authorizing a job‑creation grant payment of $53,491.89 to Carlisle Brake & Friction (listed in the agenda as “AKA Friction Products”) for tax year 2024.
Economic Development Director Kimberly Marshall said the total reflects two separate job‑creation grants: $18,750.06 and $34,741.83. The grants correspond to two expansion projects — warehouse/production improvements and the relocation of company headquarters to Medina — and staff reported the company met the employment commitments required to qualify for the payments. Marshall said all supporting documentation was reviewed and verified by staff.
Marshall noted the source of funding for these grants is non‑income tax revenues. Council approved the ordinance 6‑0.
