District reports 21 kindergarten paraprofessionals placed; about 18 roles remain open

Officials told committee members they initially worked with one staffing agency and later expanded to two — Delta and Kelly Services — to speed placements and increase the candidate pipeline. Staff said agencies are performing background checks and additional vetting; the hiring effort prioritized ensuring each campus received at least one paraprofessional in the first phase. Staff expects further placements in the coming weeks and offered to provide school-by-school vacancy lists and agency fill-rate data at the next Board meeting.
The committee requested historical agency performance data and a breakdown of vacancies by school so the Board can monitor placement speed and coverage. Staff acknowledged the request and committed to provide the requested metrics in advance of the full Board meeting packet.
