Crowley approves payments totaling $407,931.47 to Prestigious Construction for Urban Parks project

Crowley — The council approved two payment applications to Prestigious Construction Group LLC for the Urban Parks and Pavilion project: payment No. 10 in the amount of $315,354.59 and payment No. 11 for $92,576.88, for a combined total of $407,931.47.

During discussion Alderman Vernon Martin asked whether the day referenced in the payment request was the date of substantial completion. Staff responded that the payments had been approved by the architects and engineers and that partial payments can be issued for delivered materials or completed work. Council members also asked about concrete testing; staff said Louisiana Testing had performed required testing and that the results were satisfactory.

Both payment motions were offered and seconded in council and carried; the minutes record one opposition on the payment approvals in committee or council discussion for at least one item. Council members asked for accountability on the remaining work near substantial completion and staff said closeout items such as painting and adjustments remained.
